When touring, it's comme il faut to go to a reception at the local Danish embassy.
For that reason our principals, soloists, artistic director and a few more will be attending a reception at the Danish ambassador’s residence in Whitehaven tonight.
And the embassy's interior decoration already has a ballet theme.
A lot of important people will be there – apparently – including Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark and His Royal Highness the Prince.
In Copenhagen the queen attends a lot of performances and she’s very familiar and very fond of the Royal Danish Ballet. Therefore we’ll treat her with a short performance when she visits the Danish embassy.
Soloist Tina Højlund will be performing a short ballet called ‘The egg’. It’s choreographed by Esther Lee Wilkinson (also a dancer with the RDBallet) and it’s performed in The Egg - a chair designed by famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen.
